Enjoy your Christmas Amaryllis-- 🌺 Hope your Amaryllis are blooming beautifully for the holidays!
Fun tip for your inner plant stylist: Did you know an Amaryllis bulb can live and bloom for 70+ years? Yes—don’t toss that bulb away!

Here’s how to keep yours blooming year after year:

✨ Bloom Time:
Most “Amys” bloom for about a month. If the flower stem gets too tall or floppy, just cut it and enjoy it as a cut flower in a vase.

✨ After Blooming:
Move the bulb to a bright window indoors. When temps stay consistently above 50°F, bring it outside to a bright garden spot—morning sun is ideal.
Water sparingly, only when dry. The long, floppy leaves may look messy, but they’re feeding next year’s blooms.

✨ Late Summer Prep (Sept–Oct in Northern CA):
Before the rains arrive, bring your bulbs indoors. You can cut the leaves back or let them dry naturally.

✨ Dormancy Time:
Place bulbs in a cool, dark closet to dry fully. Once dry, I like to lift them from their pots and store them in brown paper bags in the fridge.
Be sure to label your colors!

✨ The Fun Part — Wake-Up Time:
In October to early November, take your bulbs out of the fridge. Repot them in fresh soil, water lightly once, and place them in a bright, warm spot.
Keep them slightly dry until new growth appears. Soon you’ll see a new stalk—holiday blooms are on the way again!

🌼 Enjoy these lovely bulbs year after year.
