My second-year BAC vet is off to camp today. ❤️🖤
And like most mommas… I am not ok today, but I will be.
It feels like he just got home from college, and somehow, we’re already saying goodbye again for the summer as he heads off to march his second year with the Boston Crusaders. A few short weeks a year with your college kiddos is simply never enough.
As hard as it is to let go, my heart is also overflowing with gratitude and pride. Watching your child live out a dream they have worked so hard for — and be so incredibly passionate about something they love — is one of the greatest gifts as a parent. Drum Corps International has shaped him in so many beautiful ways, and I couldn’t be more proud of the young man he is becoming.
But today… this momma will be missing him terribly and absolutely be counting down until that first POL and first trip to a competition.
To all the mommas sending their babies off — whether to college, internships, summer adventures, or dreams bigger than themselves — hug your kiddos extra tight today. They grow up far too fast, and somehow, we are always wishing for just a little more time. ❤️
So proud of you, Gavin. March your heart out, enjoy every second, and know home is always cheering for you and BAC with so much enthusiasm. BAC family, please take good care of our boy as I know you will. Love you G, now go get that second GOLD! 🥇💥
