As a Foreign National, is buying better than renting in Florida?

This is a question that will require you do some long and hard evaluating to determine what YOU wish to do.

Are you financially prepared for an investment that may require an additional loan against property that you own in Canada, or a new loan for your investment. If you purchase, will you rent it annually, seasonally - or not at all? If you're not going to rent, how long can and will you stay in Southwest Florida (don't forget to consider the major consideration of your health insurance)? Certainly, everything is on sale in Florida, but does it meet YOUR financial needs and wants at this time.

Perhaps you might rent for a 1 or 2 years and see how much you enjoy the climate, cosmopolitan flair, and entertainment that Southwest Florida offers, and then make your investment.
