These hybrid engine machines are unbelievably fast. The first time you see one in person it can literally take your breath away.

The back straight at the Miami Grand Prix has the best viewing spot to watch these cars and drivers drive at over 200 MPH as they are flat out and they are only 10 yards away from you!

In previous years COTA (Circuit of the America’s in Austin Texas which also happens to be the only dedicated non street circuit in the US for F1) has hosted a sprint race along with Miami but the schedule is changed this year and only Miami had one. The next closest sprint race will be held in the Canada Grand Prix in Montreal on May 23rd. But the good news is- if you can’t be there in person you can still watch it in the US on F1 TV or on Apple TV either live or recorded.

Get your tickets early! The best seats in the best grandstands sell out early and prices continue to increase the closer it gets to Grand Prix weekend. Sign up for notifications and buy them the day they go on sale.

I bought non shaded tickets- they had the best value but let me tell you a it’s hot! If you can spend an extra $100 per ticket to be in the shade - do it! I live in south Florida and if I am saying it’s hot- it’s hot! We had row 5 for all seats so we were close enough to smell the cars!

The best thing about Grandstand + tickets is you get three different views for the entire weekend. We got turn 18-19 (right off the back straight), turn 1 and the Marina turns 6-8. Saturday, turn 1 were the best seats to view the race. The Marina were the best seats because they open the gates after the Grand Prix and you can run down to the podium to be there in time for the champagne!

If you renew your tickets for one year to the next you save 10% and lock in your tickets 1 year in advance!

Make sure to have a plan on how to get to the circuit! There’s not a lot of hotel choices close by so everyone commutes in for the race. There are 2 ride share lots that are within walking distance and plenty of other lots to choose from to park. They get incrementally more expensive each day with Sunday being the most expensive. Local residents offer parking for a decent price - $30 cash in a lot of cases and they park them in their yards! If you do use ride share head as far east or west from the circuit as possible and a few blocks south of 199 Ave NW to avoid as much traffic as possible.

The Miami Grand Prix has 19 turns, it runs counter clockwise and it has 7 right handers and. 12 left handers.

There are 57 laps around the 3.36 mile circuit. It typically takes place the first weekend in May.

There’s nothing like a sprint race at Miami, day 2 (Saturday). We had grandstand tickets at turn 1 (Cadillac Grand Stands) where we got to watch the beginning and end of the race including winning and waving to the crowd. We could see the grid, the lights the pits, and the checkered flag 🏁 from our seats. Hands down the best view all weekend! We also had turn 18 for sprint quali which comes right out of the back straight and 6-8 (Marina Grandstands) for the Grand Prix. When we go again on the future I would get covered seats- we are used to the heat but even those of us that live here 96° is hot in full sun! I can’t imagine how the drivers fare in these conditions. This was the shortest day for us at the track and we came back to the resort and enjoyed the rest of the day at the pool and beach.

Running allows me time to think. It gives me much needed time to better myself mentally and physically. Every run is different. Some runs totally suck. Some runs you don’t want to stop. Some runs you don’t want to start. Some runs you push. Some runs you recover. I just run the run I’m in and don’t worry about anyone else.

There’s nothing better than a Saturday morning run that begins and ends at the beach. I think the best part is not having to rush out the door to get a run in before work and being able to push my distance and know that I still have gas in the tank.
