Six months ago I took a huge leap and changed my career into commercial real estate — and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life.

I’m building Matson CRE under LQ Commercial, and these are the three biggest lessons I’ve learned so far:

1️⃣ Real networking happens in the community
Not just business cards and events — it’s chambers, nonprofits, volunteering, and showing up where real relationships are built.

2️⃣ Write everything down
Daily to-do lists. Weekly goals. Small wins every day. That’s how momentum is created in this business.

3️⃣ Get on social media
Your phone is your most powerful marketing tool. People do business with people they know, like, and trust — and content builds that faster than anything.

Five months into my commercial real estate career and I’ve learned that authenticity wins.

Being on site, walking properties, and explaining deals in real time has outperformed polished content every time. Social media is a long game — showing up consistently and letting people get to know you matters.

5 months into commercial real estate and here are the 3 biggest lessons I’ve learned so far 👇

1️⃣ Always call people back — communication builds trust.
2️⃣ You don’t know everything, and that’s part of the journey.
3️⃣ Learning finances (money management, taxes, planning) is KEY.
