I recently had the pleasure of helping a Collier County teacher purchase their very first home using the Florida Hometown Heroes Program. It's always rewarding to help those who give so much to our community.

’s newest is set to open to traffic on Friday, June 12 at or after 10 a.m. The seven-mile Vanderbilt Beach Road Extension Project Phase 1 (Collier Boulevard to 16th Street NE) is one of the biggest Collier County has undertaken.

The new extension will help relieve congestion on other arterial roadways and reduce response times for emergency service providers.

Vanderbilt Beach Road Extension Phase Two, which is being planned to extend the roadway another two miles from 16th Street NE to Everglades Blvd., is in the final stages of design and may start construction toward the beginning of next year.

The county’s contractor will be completing punch list items over the next few weeks. A brief ribbon cutting ceremony is being planned for July 1. Additional information about that event will be released as soon as details have been determined.

Naples Market Update — April 2026
As high season winds down and traffic eases, the Naples real estate market is doing the opposite — it’s accelerating. Buyer demand remained strong throughout April, pushing pending sales sharply higher.

Overall pending sales jumped 38.2%, rising to 1,388 homes under contract compared to 1,004 in April 2025. This surge reflects steady, year‑round interest in the Naples lifestyle, even as seasonal visitors head home.

Strong demand also supported pricing.
The overall median closed price increased 7.7%, reaching $630,000, up from $585,000 last April.

Naples continues to show resilience, desirability, and momentum — a market where both buyers and sellers benefit from informed strategy and timely decisions.
