As I read this today, what I hear is “don’t get attached to the outcome.” “Is it not the case that plenty of times something we thought was a disaster turned out to be, with the passage of time, a lucky break? We also forget that we’re not the only people who matter and that our loss might be someone else’s gain.”

Just keep putting the good out there. Keep adding value, and trust that it will come back to you in due time. Maybe not how you wanted or expected, but what if it’s better?

ENERGY MATTERS!
Just back from lunch with a colleague today. We were both excited to see each other, it had been way too long. We were talking about business, having a great time, strategizing about business and our pipelines. Incidentally, the topic of energy comes up, more in passing really, but followed with a brief discussion of making sure we recharge, do the things that fill our cup, etc. Then she gets a text from an out of town agent, which she graciously acknowledges and commits to calling later. We finish our lunch, part ways, and go about our day.

Friend sends me a text an hour later, telling me that text was about a $2 million referral! As I receive that text, I'm at a walk through with a client. Client proceeds to tell me they have a friend more than likely moving to Chattanooga, and wanted to know if i could help their friend too, or if that was too far, if I knew of an agent I could refer them to.

The vibe was right, we were talking business, we were open to receiving, and we both found ourselves with referral opportunities practically falling into our laps! No chasing of business here, 100% attracting it! TSW

As I read today’s passage in The Daily Stoic, I can’t help but think of how this relates to Ninja. There’s “doing the business” and there’s “generating the business.” If we don’t pay attention, we can get so busy doing the business that we forget or don’t make time to generate the business… and the roller coaster continues. As Ninjas, our “philosophy” is the Ninja 9. Take a moment to pump the brakes, assess your situation, and if necessary, make adjustment. More than likely the business you’re doing came from the generating you did 45-90 days ago. Want to make sure the next 45-90 days don’t get quiet? Schedule your Ninja 9 activities...and do them! If you don’t see the time in your schedule, take a look at your activities as they relate to PIE time. Are there E time activities that you can delegate to someone else or ask for help with? TSW!

Don't pass up an opportunity to make a call! It's going to be crucial to your business this year. Live FLOW! Asking F.O.R.D. questions and listening for pain and pleasure. Keep providing value and you won't have to ask for business it will come to you!

Two great opportunities right now -

#1 - Likely you or someone you know right now has been impacted by the winter storms this week that have swept across the United States. Just check in on your sphere. Are they doing okay? Is there anything they need (if you're willing and prepared to help or connect them with someone who can)?

#2 If you send out closing statements for closings from the previous year to all your clients, don't just drop them in the mail and move on, call them to let them know it's coming. Explain why you're sending them (you'd be surprised how many people don't know there MAY BE opportunities for tax write offs - of course they need to check with a tax professional).

Don't forget the 5-step calling process, and most importantly, don't forget F.O.R.D.!
