Who is down for a road trip?!

It seems that the way we travel and where we travel has been dramatically altered for the foreseeable future, perhaps forever. Now more than ever, it has become more important for people to be in driving distance of their families and fun things to do. You’ll recall that number one on our list for finding a new city was “Close to our families in Missouri.” Nashville is a six hour drive to Columbia,MO: Perfect! My dad said, “I love that I can pull out of the driveway with my coffee and be eating lunch with you by noon!” Turns out, Nashville is close to tons of great cities. Here’s a list of fabulous cities within eight hours or less...

After spending almost eighteen years in the NY/NJ metro area we decided it was time for a change. The criteria for a new city were as follows:

1. Within driving distance to our families in Missouri.
2. Lower cost of living.
3. Fenced-in yard for the dogs (because let’s be honest, it’s
really all about them!).
4. Close to downtown (shorter commute time for CJ and
access to great restaurants and entertainment)
5. Warmer weather (even though we love to ski, I’d prefer to
go to the snow, rather than have it come to me!)
6. Proximity to airport

We looked seriously at Denver, CO and Austin, TX, both awesome cities with so much to offer but, they didn’t check all of the boxes. CJ came to Nashville for business, and within only a few hours he called and said, “You’ll love it, it’s perfect.”
