I can't tell you how many times I hear or see a post about using bleach to kill mold.
First and foremost, seek out a certified mold inspector for help... but please know

I'll explain.
If you can catch a spore at the very beginning, bleach may work, but in most cases ๐Ÿ‘‰ mold is never just on the surface of something ๐š๐ง๐ ๐›๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก ๐‚๐€๐ ๐๐Ž๐“ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐Ÿ๐š๐œ๐ž๐ฌ.

Since bleach can not pentrate porous surfaces, it can not kill where the mold is coming from. This will also cause the mold membranes to move deeper into the affected surface to hide from the bleach and begin reproducing at a rapid rate to become stronger.

While there are numerous proper ways to attack a mold problem depending on the situation, take bleach off the list, it's not one of them.

Someone asked me the other day, "Aren't you upset they walked away?"

No.
If walking away is the right decision for my clients, then it's the right decision. I'd much rather help someone avoid the wrong house than convince them to buy one they aren't comfortable with.
My job isn't just to get to the closing table. It's to help my clients make informed decisions they can feel good about long after closing day.
The trust I earn will always matter more than any single transaction.
