Free tree season is upon us :) Honored to be Maplewood's captain every year
Give a round of applause to this year’s Neighborhood Planting Captains! 👏 These above-and-beyond volunteers make Root Nashville stand out among urban forestry programs by working diligently to make sure our free trees get distributed equitably among Nashville neighborhoods - and as many people as possible get the chance to become a new tree owner. Representing neighborhoods from Paragon Mills to Northern Madison (and everywhere in between), they met last night to discuss tree distribution strategy with Root Nashville staff and get to know each other.
If you find a flyer offering free trees on your door or see a Root Nashville yard sign while you’re on a walk next month, chances are one of these fabulous folks is your neighbor! They’re here to answer any questions you may have about tree ordering or planting, so don’t hesitate to reach out. Not all of this year’s (more than 70!) Captains are featured in this photo, but we’re so excited to work with each and every one of them to grow Nashville’s canopy this year. 🙌🌳🙌🌳
