At an event this morning, I had a moment to chat with a couple of realtors from another company. In the course of our conversation we talked about how their company has seen many agents come and go over the past few years. They said they believe those newer agents just really underestimated the amount of work it takes to make it in this business so they didn’t last long. While I agree with them that the perception may be that it’s an easy and glamorous gig, the truth is that successful realtors just have to be very intentional with their time and efforts. I am approaching my 7-year mark of diving head first into the exciting world of real estate and I’ve had to learn some lessons the hard way. I’ve discovered that allowing too much wiggle room in my calendar leads to unnecessary stress. James Clear writes, “In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering. In practice, consistency is about being adaptable… Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day. Adaptability is the way of consistency.” Realtors generally have to be flexible to meet the needs of clients, but if we don’t keep some structure in our habits, time can disappear quickly. So here’s to hitting goals and reaching new heights, having more fun and keeping our sanity along the way 😘

I heard this message in a podcast during my walk this morning and I just keep repeating it in my head. For those of you who don’t know, my previous work experience before I got into real estate was in digital marketing. The skills I had from that role were tremendously helpful in helping me build my business and serve my buyers and sellers. Ironically, and admittedly, this has become an area of my business that has been neglected over time. Like many people, I can probably blame it on the Covid Blip, but I just had to create some distance from social media for my mental wellbeing. By God’s good grace, my business has continued to be steady, but I’ve been feeling a strong pull back to inspired creativity lately. I hope what gets revived on this page brings value to our followers, both clients and other agents. Here’s to a new season of humble growth and gratitude 🌱 ~ Jenny
