I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying they are hesitant to buy a home with the current interest rates. I heard a phrase last week that stuck with me: “marry the house; date the rate.” The days of 2-3% interest rates are over and there are current programs with rates from 4.75-5.25%. Rental prices aren’t likely going down, especially in hot housing markets. You can always lock in a payment that’s comparable to or less than rent now, and refinance down the road.
