"As development continues on Nashville’s East Bank, some of the emerging neighborhood’s current and future projects face a new deadline: Super Bowl LXIV, which is set for February 2030.

A key component of the area, which sits on the Cumberland River across from downtown, will be the new Nissan Stadium, at which the Super Bowl will take place and set to open in early 2027. However, the overall area is also preparing for the influx of thousands of football fans for what is the most significant sporting event held annually in the U.S.

“Will the East Bank be ready? Yes, it will,” Kerry Hayes, communications director for the East Bank Development Authority (EBDA), said at a board meeting on June 15." (Quote from the article.)

"Chestnut Hill’s Layman Drug Company Building — one of only a handful of fully-restored late-1800s commercial brick buildings located outside downtown Nashville — has been listed for sale for $3.1 million.

Marketing materials note the two-story building offers about 3,495 square feet.

Located at 1128 Third Ave. S. and sitting on 0.10 acres, the building is sited one-half block east of the structure housing percussion instrument retailer Fork's Drum Closet. Wedgewood-Houston is located to the immediate southwest.

Layman 1128 LLC paid $1.25 million in 2017 for the Layman Drug Company Building and three pieces of adjacent raw land (with the trio of parcels later sold to 615 Ventures and eyed for development).

A commercial recording studio and music rehearsal space owned by Will Greig operates from the second floor of the Layman building. Of note, and according to the marketing material, the building housed a pharmacy from 1900 to 1993. Greig bought and restored the building in 2017, with his business offering recording, video, photography and event studio space.
