As a longtime member of the DAR and a daughter of an honorary State Regent of the DAR who held a National chair for literacy challenge, I wanted to post this because Dolly was so much more than that beautiful musician and songwriter. She touched so many lives and did so much for so many. She will truly be missed!

The Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution, joins Tennesseans and people around the world in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dolly Parton, an entertainment legend, philanthropist, and beloved daughter of East Tennessee.

While the world knew Dolly as an extraordinary singer, songwriter, actress, and entertainer, Tennesseans knew her as something more—a neighbor, a friend, and someone who never forgot where she came from.

Dolly also shared a special connection with the DAR. In 2014, she was honored by the National Society with the DAR Founders Medal for Education in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to childhood literacy through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

Her dedication to literacy is one of the most enduring parts of her legacy. Through the Imagination Library, millions of children have received books that opened doors to imagination, learning, and opportunity. Dolly understood that something as simple as putting a book into the hands of a child could change a life.

Across the world, she will be remembered as a music icon. Here in Tennessee, we will remember something even more personal: Dolly was one of our own.

Tonight, in honor of Dolly, read a book with a child. 📖❤️

Let us continue sharing the greatest gifts she gave the world—the gift of literacy, imagination, and hope.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. We will always love you. ❤️

Buyer expectations are based a lot of times on complete myths! The Nashville market has not crashed. You are not typically buying homes for 50-100k less than the asking price. You are not building a home for $140 per sq ft and getting 10 acres of land cleared, prepped and ready all for ridiculously low prices either. That is why we need to get on our call together! You may be able to accomplish those goals in other states but we need to set realistic expectations here!

Buyer expectations are very interesting! The Nashville and surrounding areas offer different scenarios for buyers and sellers so don’t just assume the market is fully committed to either side. Yes, rates are reflecting so great opportunities for buyers to ask for more from sellers. However, don’t assume it’s a blanket across the board. Different areas may allow for different expectations.
