I know I’m not alone here. 😂

I spend an unreasonable amount of time wondering if I’m raising a kind, thoughtful, independent little human…while simultaneously asking HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THE THING THAT IS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE.

I want him to grow up confident. Respectful. Capable. Good to the people he loves. And maybe, just maybe, bypass the smelly teenager phase.

Anyway, raising a boy is wild.

You don’t have to personally experience something for it to matter.

Maybe these things don’t affect your life. Maybe you’ve never had to think twice about them. But that doesn’t mean someone else isn’t carrying the weight of them every single day.

Listening doesn’t require agreeing on everything. Sometimes it just requires enough empathy to understand that your experience isn’t the only experience.

And I think we can do better at that.
