Anyone who knew Coleman Boyd has a story to tell.

For more than 20 years, Coleman was part of the fabric of Southeast Venture. He was a mentor, a storyteller, and the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. He truly never met a stranger and if you happened to be from Nashville, chances are he knew you, your parents, your grandparents, or had a story about someone who did.

Coleman joined Southeast Venture later in life and spent more than 20 years with our team. Long after many people would have retired, he continued showing up each day with a memory to share, advice to give, and genuine interest in everyone he met.

Beside his desk, Coleman kept a list titled “Tips for an Exceptional Life.” It truly reflected the way he lived. We’re honored to share those tips at the end of this slideshow as a small tribute to a man who embodied them every day.

We are grateful for the years we shared with Coleman and for the kindness, wisdom, and friendship he brought to Southeast Venture.

He will be deeply missed.
