EO Movable Feast happened đŸ‘€đŸ„‚

This year in Downtown Franklin! Hundreds of entrepreneurs wandering from restaurant to restaurant, networking, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and simply having a great time!

One of the things I love about Nashville is the entrepreneurial community we’ve built here. Fun fact: EO Nashville is the largest chapter in the U.S. and the third largest in the world, right behind Mumbai and Tokyo Central! Pretty incredible when you think about it.

Great food, even better conversations, and so many familiar and new faces. What a fun night! đŸ„‚

I needed $250,000 for the land and I didn’t have it.

A local investor told me if you find another guy, I’ll match him. So I went back to a contact from a New York City deal and asked for $175,000. Then I went back to the local investor and asked for the matching $175,000.

I raised $350,000, more than the land cost, because you never raise only what you think you need.

$0 of my own money. No credit.

20 years. đŸ€

I was 14 when Ayrril came into my life. (after my mom talking her into hanging out with me..) I barely spoke English, and somehow a lot of the English I did learn happened in her kitchen
 baking, talking, laughing, and probably me pretending I understood more than I actually did. 😂

Years later, when the dream of coming to America on a D1 track scholarship became real, she was THE person who helped me make it happen.

That decision changed the entire trajectory of my life.

America became home. I built a life and businesses here, and eventually became a US citizen. And through all those different chapters, she’s always been my “American mom.”

This weekend we got to sit together, reminisce, laugh about old stories, and realize
 it’s been TWO DECADES. đŸ„č

It’s crazy to think that the 14-year-old girl learning English while baking with her had absolutely no idea where life would take her.

Some people don’t just come into your life. They become part of your story.

Celebrating baby “Nova” & mama-to-be Raquel last night 💗✹

Such a special weekend made even sweeter because my American mom is in town đŸ„č We’ve been having the best time catching up, laughing way too much, and reminiscing about all the memories over the years.

If you keep saying “I am ready to build something of my own”.. this is your window.

90 days won’t get you a finished building
but it can get you tangible progress.

A lot under contract.
A site walked with your engineer.
A lender who knows your name.
A bad deal you were smart enough to walk away from.

I have watched it happen in less.
One of my members caught a bad deal in her first 2 weeks and walked away before it cost her $60,000.

Another had multiple ready for listing in 6 months.

The reality is that the time is going to pass anyone.

But RARELY have I ever watched it happen alone.
Alone, 90 days quietly becomes next year.

There are two types of energy driving people into real estate development.

Escape energy. You hate your 9 to 5. You know you’re making someone else rich. You want out.

Scaling energy. You’re already working for yourself but you’ve hit a ceiling. Flipping one house at a time isn’t cutting it anymore.

The escape energy gets you started. The scaling energy is what keeps you going.
