WHAT I'M LEARNING AS I TRANSITION FROM AGENT TO INVESTOR 📋
After years of helping clients buy and sell properties, I thought I knew real estate inside and out. But, as one YouTuber put it: being an agent is like being in preschool!
Here's what I've discovered in my first few weeks of research:
🔥The properties I used to pass over for clients often have the most potential for investors. Those "needs TLC" listings suddenly look like opportunities.
🔥My network as an agent is proving invaluable - from contractors who can give ballpark renovation estimates to lenders who specialize in investment properties.
🔥Analysis paralysis is real! I'm working through the fear of making my first investment purchase by educating myself and setting clear criteria for what makes a good deal.
🔥Fellow agents have been incredibly supportive. Several have reached out to help me network and start learning the ropes.
🔥The skills that made me a good agent (market knowledge, negotiation, understanding of the closing process) create a solid foundation, but I'm still facing a steep learning curve.
I'd love to connect with others who have made this transition.
What was your biggest surprise going from agent to investor?
