Our trained detection dog identifies hidden mold quickly and accurately without invasive demolition. Ace Mold Detection is owned and operated by Karen and Fab. Married in 2010, Karen and Fab relocated from Southern California to Middle Tennessee in 2019. While working as a hairstylist in a busy salon, Karen became increasingly aware of the growing impact of mold-related illnesses. As public awaren
ess of mold exposure has expanded, so has the need for reliable detection methods. After discussing the idea with Fab—who was particularly intrigued by the prospect of adding a fourth rescue dog to their home—they decided to take action and help others address mold issues. Karen reached out to Bill Whitstine, the pioneer of the mold detection method in which Ace was trained, and the plan was set in motion. Since mold detection requires a specific type of dog, Karen and Fab were committed to adopting a rescue rather than purchasing from a breeder. After months of searching shelters and online listings, they found Ace-a two-year-old beagle with an exceptional sense of smell, much like a hunting dog, and an incredible work ethic. Following two months of acclimating to her new home and proving to be a great fit for their pack, Ace was sent to Florida to train under Bill at the Florida Canine Academy. For three months, she underwent intensive training to detect mold that often remains hidden—even from professional equipment. If it’s there, Ace will find it! After Ace completed her training, Karen and Fab traveled to Florida for a week-long certification program in mold inspection, working hands-on with Ace and her trainer. At Ace Mold Detection, we are passionate about helping people identify and address mold issues that could be affecting their health—whether at home or in the workplace.
