All jokes aside — the market can feel frustrating, especially for first-time buyers or anyone trying to stay within budget. But there are still good opportunities out there with the right strategy, timing, and expectations. Don’t let social media convince you homeownership is impossible.

I recently had a fellow Marine I served with reach out to talk through the home buying process. We went over his VA loan options, discussed offer strategies, and built a plan around exactly what he was looking for.

He already had a property in mind that had just hit the market, so we moved quickly. Within 48 hours of our first conversation, he was under contract on his dream property in Florida — and closed just 3 weeks later for $10K under asking.

One thing I understand firsthand is how stressful buying a home can be while serving in the military, especially during a PCS, EAS, or when buying sight unseen from across the country. Having someone in your corner who understands the timelines, pressure, and uncertainty makes a huge difference.
