My brother in Christ recently lost his mother a pain that words can’t really touch. I wanted to do something that could bring comfort, even if just for a moment. This canvas is a portrait created in her image a picture that never existed before, but somehow still captures who she was when she was here with us.
I asked his wife, my sister in Christ, if she would record him opening it… because I had a feeling it would be a moment worth holding onto. I’m grateful she did.
Watching his reaction reminded me of something important:
When people are grieving, you don’t have to have the perfect words.
You don’t have to fix anything.
You just have to show up.
A call.
A prayer.
A small gesture.
A reminder that they’re not alone.
Love doesn’t end when someone leaves this earth. It just changes form.
If you have someone in your life who’s hurting right now… reach out. Even the smallest act of kindness can become a moment they never forget.
