Three days before closing, the lender backed out. đ
My buyers had waited over a year to finally own a homeâŚChapter 13, 12 months of on-time payments, trustee approval, all done. Three days from closing, the lender saw something in the file he said he couldnât move past. I had to make the hardest call of the deal, telling the listing agent, who had to relay it to her seller.
A couple weeks later, my client called: âI talked to a new lender. He says he can do it.â I got him on the phone myself. Very frank conversations, because I wasnât putting my clients through that heartbreak twice. We reconnected with the listing agent, got them talking, and moved forward again.
We ended up closing. After everything, they got their home. đ
