10 Preparation Tips for Hurricane season:
1. Keep some candles and a lighter nearby in the event of a power outage
2. Have a flashlight or two handy along with an extra set of batteries
3. Make sure your cell phone, laptop and other battery-powered devices are fully charged
4. Keep plenty of bottled water on hand
5. Plenty of ice and ice cubes (no electricity for an extended period)
6. Make sure your car has a full tank of gas
7. Park all vehicles away from trees if possible
8. Bring all outside toys and furniture inside
9. Take down all hanging plants and move potted plants inside
10. In the event of flooding in the basement, keep belongings off the cellar floor
