Construction is underway on the U.S. 70 upgrade to Future I‑42, a $300+ million project that will enhance connectivity across Craven County.

The project will improve freight access to the Port of Morehead City, streamline travel to Coastal Carolina Regional Airport, and drive economic growth throughout the region.

The James City section is expected to be completed by Spring 2027, while the Havelock Bypass, already over 90% finished, is on track for Summer 2026. 🚧
