Watch out for wire fraud!

Imagine, you are in the closing process for your new home and you now need to wire the funds to the closing attorney's escrow account. Just prior to doing that, you receive a timely email which says, "due to the attorney switching to a new financial institution, your attorney's wiring instructions have changed." Wow, good thing you got that information, right?
WRONG!!
You are probably about to wire a few hundred thousand dollars to an unknown offshore account. The money becomes unrecoverable and you are ruined!

ALWAYS! personally confirm with your attorney directly, face-to-face, the correct instructions.
It is a good idea to get that confirmation in writing and signed by the closing attorney.
