I had a very special closing on January 8th I forgot to post about. I guess “forgot” is the wrong word, I should say “bittersweet” is the best word to describe this closing. People in our industry say it’s difficult to work with family because it can be stressful, emotional and sometimes being too close to your clients can hinder the process. In this case, it was my sister and brother-in-laws property and it was certainly stressful, but they trusted me with the process and had faith in my professional abilities to close this deal. Add in the added dilemma of them moving to Japan in the middle of the transaction and you have an extremely stressful situation.

Yes, a “bittersweet” closing for me because my sister and her sweet family are living in Japan for the next three years. They had the opportunity for an epic family adventure, and I was honored they had faith in me to be their Realtor to make their dreams a reality, even if it meant I was losing my best friend for a short time. I see a visit to Japan in my near future!
