Fatou is very involved in her community. She is a Committee Member of The New Canaan Rams All Sports Booster Club whose mission is to enrich and enhance athletics at New Canaan High School. Fatu was V.P. Ways & Means of the Newcomers Club of New Canaan as well as on the Board of the Young Women's League of New Canaan (YWL). YWL is an organization that focuses on women and family issues in Lower Fairfield County, CT . Beyond her New Canaan community, she is a member of the Personnel Committee at The Carver Foundation of Norwalk whose mission is to help children reach their greatest potential by providing educational, social, and recreational programs in a positive, safe and fun environment. She chaired many fundraising events to support the Carver Foundation along with the local charity "Shakespeare On the Sound" which delivers year-round educational programs in the schools and local libraries that showcases Shakespeare's great theater classics for a broad audience, reaching a diverse cross-section of people of all ages and economic background. Fatu also chaired many fundraising events to support nationwide charities such as AmeriCares and the Red Cross. Fatou is married with two children. She has a BA in advertising, marketing and communication from CNED in France. Fatu is French-American with an African heritage. Her family origins are from Cote D'Ivoire and Malia in West Africa.
