1. Document everything keep the signed lease, rent ledger, move-out statement, damage photos, and all notices.

While the national median home price is sitting around $396,000 right now, here’s something interesting home values are actually dropping in about one-third of U.S. cities. Especially in places like California and Florida that saw crazy price spikes during the pandemic, we’re now seeing some of the biggest pullbacks and even rents falling fast. It’s a good reminder that not every market moves the same way. Here in Syracuse and Central New York, things have stayed much more stable and balanced compared to those boom-and-bust areas.
