What you you planting this fall?

Believe it or not, food plot season is right around the corner. 🔜

If you're planning a fall food plot, now's the time to start thinking ahead.
For most of the Midwest, late July through mid-August is the sweet spot for planting brassicas, giving them enough time to establish before cooler temperatures arrive. A quality brassica blend typically includes turnips, radishes, r**e, and kale, creating a high-protein food source that becomes even more attractive after the first hard frosts as the plants convert starches into sugars. That's why so many hunters see deer flock to these plots right when the season starts heating up.

Whether you're planting a destination plot or a small kill plot tucked into the timber, a well-established brassica blend can help keep deer on your property deeper into the fall and winter while adding another reliable piece to your habitat plan.

We want know, what kinds of fall food plot blends have worked for you in the past?

SOLD! 39 acres in the Town of Greenbush, Sheboygan County!

Rural properties come with details that many buyers and sellers do not think about until they are already in the middle of a transaction. Zoning, surveys, perc tests, parcel splits, access, land use, and local regulations can all play a major role in whether a property is the right fit.

That is where experience matters. I understand the unique challenges that come with rural real estate, and I help my clients ask the right questions, avoid surprises, and move forward with confidence.

If you are thinking about buying or selling rural property, let’s talk. I would be happy to walk you through the process and help you understand what matters before you make your next move.

What do you have in your food plots?

Summer Time and Perennial Food Plots ✅

Summer and perennial food plots are the perfect match for keeping deer healthy through the hottest months. Growing bucks need protein to maximize antler growth, while mama Does need quality nutrition for milk production and fawn development.

White Clover – High in protein, fixes nitrogen to improve soil fertility, and provides season-long forage.

Red Clover – Deep-rooted, drought-tolerant, boosts soil nitrogen, and delivers excellent protein for herd health.

Chicory – Handles summer heat and drought, breaks up compacted soils with deep taproots, and provides highly digestible, mineral-rich forage.

Alfalfa – One of the highest-protein forages available, improves soil structure with deep roots, and fuels antler growth and lactation.

The best part? Once these perennials are established, they'll continue producing quality forage year after year with proper management—saving time, reducing planting costs, and keeping your deer coming back season after season. A diverse perennial blend keeps your plots productive, builds healthier soils, and gives deer a reliable, high-quality food source all summer long.
