Just a reminder that last years hunting and fishing licenses are now expired! Take an extra few minutes to make sure you get you applications or points in as well. Many times people don’t and wind up without a tag!

Wisconsin anglers are reminded that the new fishing license year goes into effect starting Wednesday, April 1. That means you'll need a valid 2026-2027 license to fish Wisconsin's inland waters.

Although Wisconsin’s 2026-2027 general inland fishing season doesn’t open until May 2, there are still some outstanding angling opportunities available throughout the state, so don't wait until May to buy your license! Grab yours today at https://gowild.wi.gov/

Hook and line fishing is open year-round on some waters for many species. Just be sure to familiarize yourself with the Special County Regulations for the county and waterbody you plan to fish before wetting a line.

We had a guest while fishing! This is an American Mink. Mink are a semi-aquatic member of the weasel family. This is about their breeding season time. The sow (female) has delayed implantation, meaning he egg doesn’t attach to the uterine wall immediately. This gives them quite a wide gestation period of 45-75 days when they give birth to 4-7 kits! Pretty cool critters!
