Today is National Tartan Day!

Here at The Menzies Group, we proudly display the Menzies red and white full dress tartan behind our logo. It’s one of several tartans specific to Clan Menzies.

Despite the popular misconception, you do not need to be a member of a Scottish clan to have a tartan. Many countries, as well as all of the U.S. states and Canadian provinces, have their own tartans. And in Scotland, tartans were not associated with specific clans until the 19th century.

Spring is less than one week away, and is traditionally the time of year when the real estate market really heats up—for sellers and buyers alike. As such, we wanted to take a moment to officially introduce you to The Menzies Group.

The Menzies Team is helmed by James Menzies and Lauren Menzies Rando, a brother-and-sister duo of real estate professionals working with Keller Williams. As Pennsylvania natives, James and Lauren grew up in Montgomery and Bucks Counties, and after various adventures around the country, have both returned to the state they call home. In fact, it was right here in the good ol' Keystone State that James developed his keen fashion sense (he thinks glasses make him look smarter) and Lauren single-handedly tried to make Dress Like Diane Keaton Day an official holiday (it failed to catch on).

Some other fun facts about this close-knit sibling team: Lauren once threw a high-heeled shoe at James and knocked him unconscious. (To her credit, she did feel bad about it.) James, meanwhile, spent his time more productively by lip syncing to Huey Lewis while rocking out on his Casio synthesizer.

While we cannot swear that Lauren neither has, nor will, weaponize a shoe again, or that James won't dust off that Casio to show off his mad keyboard skills from time to time, we can promise that no client of The Menzies Group has ever had to bear witness to their incessant Star Wars quotes and other shenanigans. (Unless you ask by special request, for which there will be an additional charge.)
