For folks working outdoors like us, here’s a good reminder this time of year: not every animal needs “help.” Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, pay attention, and leave them be.

We spend a lot of time outside on homes and properties across Bucks County (and beyond) and it’s something we try to stay mindful of every day. 🐇🦌🐢🐝

After a heavy rain, your home can tell you a lot.

Walk around and look for overflowing gutters, water pooling near the foundation, staining, or areas where stucco meets windows, doors, rooflines, and trim.

These are the spots worth paying attention to, especially before small issues become bigger ones.

Every spring in Bucks County, people come across baby deer resting alone and worry they’ve been abandoned.

In most cases, they haven’t. 🦌

Mother deer often leave their fawns hidden while they search for food nearby, returning periodically throughout the day to nurse and check on them.

If you spot one:
• keep your distance
• keep pets away
• avoid touching or moving it

Sometimes the best thing we can do for wildlife is simply give it space.

Warmer weather means wasps are starting to show up around homes again.

One trick some homeowners use: hanging a fake wasp nest nearby. Since many wasps are territorial, the idea is that they’ll avoid areas they think are already occupied.

Not guaranteed - but an interesting home tip that’s been around for years.

Have you ever tried it? 🐝

Stucco can look completely dry ...
while moisture sits behind it.

What you see doesn’t always tell the full story.

Most people look at the wall and think everything looks fine.

We look at the edges.

Around windows.
Along rooflines.
At every transition point.

That’s where stucco problems actually begin.

Cleaning stucco doesn’t require heavy pressure-- in fact, that’s where damage can happen.

For lower areas, a soft brush, mild detergent, and low-pressure rinse usually do the job.

For higher sections, it’s not just about cleaning -- it’s about safety and using the right technique. In many cases, it’s best left to professionals!
