Mortgage rates dropped.
So why didn’t your mortgage payment?
Because your existing mortgage doesn’t automatically adjust when market rates change.
If you locked in your home loan when rates were higher, you’ll generally keep that rate unless you refinance or otherwise change the loan.
But a lower rate alone doesn’t mean refinancing is automatically the right move.
Look at the potential monthly savings.
Look at the closing costs.
Look at your break-even point.
Then decide if a mortgage refinance actually makes sense.
Watching mortgage rates is one thing. Knowing your options is another.
