Sausage Rolls with Pepper Jelly

These Pepper Jelly Hogs in a Blanket bring a zesty twist to the classic appetizer. With flavorful sausage, crescent dough, and a dollop of spicy pepper jelly and mustard, they’re ideal for parties or a fun snack!

Ingredients:

8 ounces Crescent Dough Sheet
12 ounces sausage links (e.g., Aidells Spicy Mango with Jalapeno, skinless sausage, or kielbasa with jalapeno, fully cooked)
¼ cup hot pepper jelly
2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard

Instructions:

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a 24-mini muffin tin with cooking spray. (You may need two muffin tins depending on the size.)

Prepare the Dough: Lay the Crescent Dough Sheet flat on a clean surface. Cut it in half lengthwise, then cut each half into ¾-inch strips.

Prepare the Sausage: Slice the sausage links into 1-inch pieces.

Assemble the Rolls: Wrap each sausage piece with one strip of dough, gently stretching the dough as you roll the sausage to ensure it wraps tightly.

Place in Muffin Tin: Place each rolled sausage in a muffin cup, with the sausage side facing up.

Add Toppings: Spoon a small dollop of hot pepper jelly and a small dollop of whole-grain mustard onto the top of each sausage roll.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

Governor Landry Declares a Period of Mourning to Honor Victims of New Orleans Terror Attack


Baton Rouge, LA- Today, Governor Landry signed an executive order declaring a period of mourning for the victims of the heinous terrorist attack in New Orleans.

The order calls for all flags over state buildings to be flown at half-staff on the following days to honor and remember each innocent life lost.

All political subdivisions, private entities, and educational institutions, including public, private, and parochial, and post-secondary institutions, are encouraged to lower the flags of the United States and State of Louisiana at half-staff during this period as well.

This executive order will be amended as necessary to include every victim once their names are made public.
