2025, the Year of the Snake, was about shedding old skin.🐍The loss was heavy, and the rebirth was painful.

I am grateful to participate in this year’s planning committee at the Annual Urban Land Institute Louiaiana Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2025 🙏🏾

This year we decided to focus on the challenges of developing affordable housing, navigating risk and resilience through climate change, the intersection of tourism and hospitality on economic development, and reimagining our downtowns in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette, as well as the SuperBowl affect presented by Kevin Ferguson of New Orleans & Company.

We took a private tour and learned about the development process from the owner/developer of new boutique hotel, The Garden District Hotel and the Black Bird Hotel , which is incredible and really cool. I definitely know where I’m going for a swim and a few cocktails as soon as the weather warms up!

We all learned a lot, made several connections, established relationships, and took what we needed in order to continue in our work towards building a more resilient and sustainable community here in Louisiana for ourselves and for future generations.

All in all, the past couple days were awesome!

I appreciate each of the other planning committee members. We pulled it off smoothly. Im so proud of us! I look forward to working together again on next year’s Emerging Trends In Real Estate Conference.
