Over the New Year holiday, Louis Schaff and his family were in a serious car accident. Louis used to work with us. If you worked with us in the past you likely met him. He is a caring father, a hard worker and always demonstrated a sense of joviality that makes him a pleasure to be around.

Unfortunately, his wife passed away at the scene of the collision. The rest of his family was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. If you would like to help support the family in their time of need, a GoFundMe drive has been set up. The link is below.

With the recent water boil advisory in Jefferson Parish we feel it is pertinent to spread this information.

What to do after a boil water advisory is lifted:

First ensure your local area isn't still asking residents to not use too much water.

After the advisory is lifted, flush the plumbing in your home by running all cold water faucets for at least five minutes each. You should also flush all appliances connected to the water line, like refrigerators and dishwashers. Disposable filters that have come in contact with contaminated water should be removed and replaced. Ice from ice makers should be dumped and replaced three times.

Water heaters should be drained once. You can do this by running any hot water faucet till it runs cold.

Other appliances may need aditional cleaning or care and you should refer to thier user manuals.

We do *tandem inspections* so we can be as efficient as possible and still be thorough! We inspected this 7,000 sq ft Uptown beauty in only an hour and a half with five inspectors. We are happy to announce, beginning today you can now schedule Termite and Video Plumbing inspections with Axelrad & Associates Home Inspections.

How does this work?

First, this optional scheduling service is complimentary with no additional fees.

When booking a home inspection we will ask if you would like us to book a Termite or Video Plumber on your behalf. Once the Home Inspection is scheduled we will send the details on the property to the Termite and/or Video Plumber so they will have all the information they need to do an excellent job. They will do their best to be there at the same time we are, but in the rare event schedules don't mesh they will reach out directly to see if there is a better time or day.

We will not be doing these inspections, but are partnering with local companies that have been in business in the greater New Orleans area for years with proven track records. You won't be getting a Home Inspector that took a 10 hour course or bought a camera and decided to jump into a field where they have little to no experience or expertise.
