Did you know a cracked toilet can be a serious safety hazard? Not only can a broken toilet fail when you need it most, but the shattered pieces can become razor sharp, leading to cuts or even more serious injuries.

If you notice any cracks or damage in your toilet, it's crucial to get it replaced ASAP. Toilets are not expensive and can even be a diy project.

This toilet should not be used!

Getting on a roof is a dangerous job. I try to make it as safe as possible. I have a stabilizer at the top so the ladder rests on the roof coverings and not the gutter. This makes it less likely to slide left or right. I also attach the ladder to a ground screw with a ratchet strap. This makes the ladder feel like it’s attached to the roof so if I do slip, I can grab the ladder and it should be sturdy enough to prevent a fall. This setup takes a few more minutes but it’s worth it for me to feel safe.

Sometimes I find some odd things under old houses. This is in the crawlspace of a home built in 1890. I’ve heard lots of theories on this “pit” but I don’t really know what it is. It’s about 12’ x 12’ and maybe 4’ deep.
