On March 15, 2024, the National Association of Realtors® agreed to settle a historic $418 million antitrust lawsuit. The suit claimed that Realtors® worked together to inflate commission rates by withholding information on how buyer’s agents are compensated. Starting in mid-July 2024, MLS listings will no longer disclose buyer broker compensation, and MLS participants working with buyers should have written representation agreements.
