Yes your inspector will check major systems, but it's absolutely worth the time to give your newest (and biggest) asset a second look.

- FIRST: make sure any requested repairs have been addressed & no new damage has occurred since the inspection
- Check that all outlets work as expected (bring your phone charger to test!)
- Check that all doors and windows open and close smoothly, lock properly and donโ€™t have drafts
- Check all light switches to see that every fixture and fan works
- Check that all appliances work as expected
- Flush toilets and check the base for leaks
- Plug the drains in every sink and check for leaks below

It's certainly not glamorous work, but it's worth it to take these extra steps to ensure your new home is in the best condition.
