Do you thrift? What was your favorite find?

I don’t thrift because I have to.
I thrift because I want to.

Secondhand is a last resort for a lot of people.
For me? It’s the first stop. Always has been.

I could walk into any big box store and buy everything brand new if I wanted to.
That’s not the point.

I choose pieces with history.
I choose things that have already lived a life before coming home with us.
Things that were once someone else’s favorite chair, their everyday dish, the quilt pulled up during quiet mornings and long winters.

I choose character over trends.
Stories over shine.
Warmth over whatever is “in” this season.

Thrifting isn’t about lack.
It’s not about being deprived or settling for less.
It’s about intention.

It’s choosing to slow down.
Choosing pieces that feel lived in instead of staged.
Choosing a home that feels safe, familiar, and full of stories instead of one that looks like everyone elses.

I want my house to feel like life happens here.
Like kids can run through it.
Like you can sit down without worrying about scratching something.
Like every piece has a past and gets to be part of our future.

So no, I don’t thrift because I can’t afford new.
