💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 💛
This month means something very different to our family than it did a year ago.
Last September, our sweet Magnolia was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a childhood kidney cancer. Our family’s world changed overnight. She had her right kidney and tumor removed. She also went through radiation and chemotherapy, and today we are incredibly grateful to say that Magnolia is in remission. 💛
But there is another part of her story that I don't want to overlook.
Magnolia was also part of a clinical trial.
That trial gave her access to treatment that may not have otherwise been available to her. And it made me realize just how important clinical research is for childhood cancer. Clinical trials don't just happen—they require research, funding, doctors, scientists, and families willing to take part. And without donations and support, these trials simply wouldn't be possible.
So this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Rose & Aster is doing something very close to my heart. 🫶🏻
I've created two special designs that will be available on either a T-shirt or crewneck, and $10 from every shirt or crewneck sold will be donated to Children's Cancer Research Fund to support the Wilms tumor clinical trial.
This isn't just a fundraiser to me.
It's my way of taking something incredibly difficult that our family has walked through and turning it into a little bit of hope for another child and another family.
Because someday, I hope childhood cancer is something families don't have to fear the way we did.
And I hope that the research happening today means another child gets the same chance Magnolia did. 💛
