Thinking about diving into property flipping? Start with the basics and build your experience first.

It’s not just about finding a good deal; it’s about understanding the market, knowing the right time to buy, and predicting future trends. A solid foundation in the basics will save you from costly mistakes and set you up for long-term success.

On a recent $150,000 project, I faced some permit delays and hefty holding costs, stretching the timeline to over four and a half months! These kinds of hurdles can be brutal without a solid financial cushion and a strategic plan. The reality of flipping often involves unexpected challenges that can eat into your profits if you’re not prepared. Ensure you have a contingency plan and enough capital to weather these setbacks.

My advice? Start with smaller ventures like wholesaling or minor flips. Team up with a seasoned mentor to help you avoid pitfalls and master the game. Having someone who has been through the trenches can provide invaluable insights and guidance. Don’t underestimate the power of learning from someone else’s experiences to fast-track your own growth.

Stay sharp, start small, and learn from every flip! Every project, no matter how minor, offers lessons that will hone your skills and increase your confidence. Keep pushing forward, stay adaptable, and remember that every flip is a stepping stone towards mastering the art of property flipping.
