🌈🕯️Shabbat Shalom & Happy Pride 💖✨
People ask me the wildest things:
“Does Chris know you’re bi?” 🤨
“Does he know you’re Jewish?” 🤯
“If you’re bi, why’d you marry a man?” 🙃
YES — he knows, he embraces all of me. 💍💗
I was raised by my dad’s mom — my Christian grandmother — in a very strict Church of Christ household. ⛪️ She was loving, but also deeply religious. When I came out in high school, I kept it a secret… until my first girlfriend and I got caught together at summer camp. 💔 We were both excommunicated. I was 14, I was shattered.
I turned to my Jewish mother and her family for support, and they welcomed me with open arms. They told me to look to the Torah — because Judaism honors free will and the fullness of who we are. ✡️📖
A lot of people think I just “suddenly” turned to Judaism… but this journey has been unfolding for years. Through heartbreak, rejection, love, and self-discovery. 💫
Today, I’m so grateful for the friends, family, and partner who love me with zero conditions. But the real shift happened when I learned to love and support myself. 💕
Now, I walk into Shabbat — bi, Jewish, and free. 🕊️
