• Approach negotiations as collaborative problem-solving meetings, not battles. Being too aggressive or demanding can turn off the other party.
• Don’t try to force someone to say yes to you. Create a situation in which they feel it’s in their best interest to agree to your terms.
• Consider the other person’s interests, obstacles, and goals, then craft a convincing proposal.
