Dreaming of buying a home but need assistance with your down payment? GOOD NEWS! The CalFHA “Dream for All” down payment assistance program is back for 2026!

Here are a few of the guidlinea below!

⭐️ First-time homebuyer status: generally no ownership of a residential property in the last 3 years (exceptions exist for targeted programs and veterans).

⭐️ California residency: borrower must occupy the home as their primary residence.
Income limits: household income must be at or below county-specific income limits (varies by program and household size).

⭐️ Purchase price limits: property purchase price must not exceed county-specific limits.
Eligible loan type: must be paired with an eligible CalHFA first mortgage (FHA, VA, USDA or CalHFA conventional products depending on program).

⭐️ Credit score: minimum credit score required (commonly 620 for some programs; some conventional products may require higher scores).

⭐️ Debt-to-income (DTI): must meet program-specific DTI ratio limits set by the first mortgage and CalHFA.
