Governor Kathy Hochul marched in New York City’s annual Labor Day Parade.

Before marching, at the West Indian American Day Carnival Association Breakfast, Governor Hochul announced a trade mission to the Caribbean in December 2024. This trade mission will bring up to ten New York-based companies to two Caribbean nations, aimed at launching and increasing export efforts within this economically important region, which is a growing market for New York State businesses and communities.

Governor Hochul: “I have come to this great event countless times, and the energy that's here and the passion for our home countries, it is powerful. And as Governor, I'll continue to support this committee to carry on this tradition that goes back decades and decades.”

MAYOR ADAMS DELIVERS REMARKS AT FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY FOR INDIA

Mayor Eric Adams: ...over and over again. You know, New York City is the New Delhi of America. We have one of the largest Indian populations. And I recall in my trip to India, and the most significant part of that trip that I remember, I remember watching the last footsteps of our leader, Gandhi, and where the assassin took his life, and how we have a responsibility and obligation to continue those footsteps. We have to fulfill what he thought we should do as we lift up humanity.

And we cannot overlook what you all should feel a wealth of support for, that we are on a historic moment of potentially electing the first woman president of Indian descent. This is a major, major accomplishment. It shows you that in America, everything is possible. Let's continue to lift each other up. 78 years of independence. Let's continue to be dependent on each other as we move forward. Thank you very much. Happy Independence Day.
And it's so important, but also diversity.

MAYOR ADAMS DELIVERS REMARKS AT FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY FOR PAKISTAN.

"We notice you from every aspect, from your mosque. We notice you from how you walk the streets. We notice you, and you are part of the fabric of the city, and you're joined by many of the other immigrant groups that came here to pursue the American dream. Only country on the globe where dream is attached to its name. It's a real dream, and we should never deny anyone any aspect of being able to achieve that. It doesn't matter if you're in a Baptist church, a synagogue, a mosque, a Buddhist temple, no matter where you pray or if you don't pray. This is a city that is inclusive to everyone.
So, 77 years of your rich independence, we're highlighting that today when we raise the flag here in a place that you call home. Thank you so much. As-salaam alaykum to you"

Mayor Eric Adams.
