AREAA’s membership represents a vast array of cultural, ethnic, and professional backgrounds.
AREAA is open to anyone and everyone who works with, or seeks to work with, the AAPI community. With 39 and growing chapters across the US and Canada, AREAA is the largest Asian organization in North America.
Furthermore, to reduce homeownership barriers facing the Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, AREAA advocates for public policy positions at the national level. Our Association meets with their state’s congressman every May to present our Public Policy Platform to further sustainable housing opportunities. In maintaining a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals, AREAA continues to facilitate business opportunities for Realtors, mortgage and other professionals serving the real estate industry. In 2016 our Public Policy Platform spurred the change in the quarterly US Census to include Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Hawaiians in their own categories instead of being listed as Other. We proved that with AREAA’s reach and our members we can effect positive change even at the National level.
AREAA Foundation is its own nonprofit arm of AREAA National that is involved with providing Leadership Education and Charitable giving locally and abroad. AREAA Foundation in 2015 provided a Hawaiian Veteran with a 10k housing grant. Additionally, they supported relief efforts for the Tsunami in Japan and Earthquake in Nepal and continue to make members proud that with AREAA we are making a difference to many.
