Looking to rent in NYC? - Here’s a part of the process that isn’t optional! This is what a clear, professional rental experience looks like.
NYC Tip: Required Forms 📄
When we start working together on a rental in New York City, state law requires licensed real estate agents to provide a few standard disclosure forms — including the Agency Disclosure and the Fair Housing (anti-discrimination) Notice.
These aren’t random forms or “gotchas.”
They’re designed to protect you, clarify who represents whom, and outline your rights as a renter.
I also use a short Exclusive Tenant Representation Agreement. While it isn’t required by the state, it’s considered a best practice in NYC real estate. It simply puts in writing that I represent you as the tenant and explains how compensation works — clearly and upfront.
No confusion. No pressure. No surprises.
My role is to make the process feel transparent, calm, and well-supported — and I walk you through every form step-by-step so nothing feels rushed or unclear.
