A year after Green Mountain College closed for good in 2019, the school found an unlikely buyer for its stately campus in rural Vermont.

Raj Bhakta was a former contestant on “The Apprentice,” an unsuccessful congressional candidate and an embattled whiskey entrepreneur. But he had some big ideas for the property—his plan would include 93 hotel rooms, 18 condos, a micro-distillery, restaurant and spa. He spent less than $5 million for the whole campus.

Six years later, it remains mostly empty, aside from a small elementary school founded by Bhakta’s wife, with the bigger development plans called off.

He is now trying to give away the land and 16 buildings.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude.

As Tucker celebrates being recognized among the Top 20 REALTORS® in Rutland County and the Crown Point Board of REALTORS®, I’m reminded that success isn’t just measured by rankings, awards, or transactions. It’s measured by how we show up for the people we love and the communities we serve.

This season has certainly looked different than we expected. While I’d much rather be out showing homes, meeting clients, and working alongside Tucker every day, Baby Lange has politely (and sometimes not so politely!) reminded me that it’s time to slow down and listen to my body.

After one final procedure on Tuesday (tomorrow), I’ll be spending the next chapter resting, growing a healthy baby boy, and supporting our clients from behind the computer and phone. It’s not exactly how I pictured things, but it’s a wonderful reminder that sometimes life asks us to pause and appreciate what’s right in front of us.

More than anything, this experience has taught me how important it is to be kind to one another. You never know what someone may be carrying behind the scenes. The calls, messages, referrals, words of encouragement, baby gifts, prayers, and support we’ve received have meant more than you know.

I’m especially grateful for my husband. Watching him navigate business, family, and life’s unexpected twists with grace, optimism, and a smile has made me even more proud to be his wife and business partner.

We’re entering one of the most exciting seasons of our lives, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the incredible people who have been part of our journey.

Here’s your reminder to slow down when your body asks you to, celebrate the wins—big and small—and never take the people you love for granted.

We have so much to be grateful for, and we can’t wait to introduce Baby Lange to all of you very soon. 🩵🩵🧸🩵🩵
