My Professional Stance on 50-Year Mortgages
(Realtor + Accountant Perspective)

Let me slide my Realtor badge on, tuck my calculator in my purse, and speak on this loud and clear…

I am NOT in favor of these new 50-year mortgages.

From a Realtor’s view:
Stretching a loan across half a century might lower the monthly note, but it skyrockets the amount of interest you’ll pay, keeps you in debt longer than a Lexus warranty, and slows down your ability to build real equity. A mortgage shouldn’t outlive your career, your kids’ childhoods, and your patience.

From an Accountant’s view:
A 50-year mortgage is basically a “pay more, own less, for longer” plan. It drains your long-term wealth, eats your future profits, and ties up money that should be working for you in investments, businesses, or assets that actually grow. I help people build wealth every day, and this strategy does the opposite.

🏡 My stance is simple:
Homeownership should empower you, not chain you. I’d rather guide my clients to smart financing options that set them up to win, build equity faster, and protect their financial future.
