There are no words big enough for a loss like this.
My mommy was one of the strongest people I have ever known. She endured more pain than anyone should ever have to, and while our hearts are shattered, there is peace in knowing she is finally resting easy.
Watching someone you love suffer changes you. Watching Parkinson’s slowly take pieces of the person you love is cruel in ways I will never be able to fully explain. She fought so hard for so long, and while my heart desperately wanted more time, her body deserved peace. She never deserved the sentence Parkinson’s gave her.
We find comfort in knowing she wasn’t alone. We know Tommy, her mom, and her dad were there waiting for her with open arms. And she passed peacefully, surrounded by love.
The truth is, I don’t know how this world is supposed to look without her in it. She was the center of our universe. The glue. The safe place. The one we called for everything. Life without her feels impossible right now, and the silence she leaves behind feels unbearable.
But if there is one thing my mommy taught us, it’s love, resilience, and showing up for family. We will band together through this heartbreak. We will love harder, hold each other closer, and live in a way that would make her proud.
Some of her last words were that she lived for the kids… and boy, did she ever. Her grandbabies were her whole world. She loved them fiercely, raised them, protected them, and poured every ounce of herself into them.
Before she left us, I told her I loved her, and she whispered it back to me. That moment will stay with me forever. I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.
I wasn’t ready, and I don’t think I ever would have been. I would give anything for one more hug, one more laugh, one more “I love you.” But what a gift it was to have loved someone this deeply, even if losing her hurts this much.
Fly high, Mommy. Until we meet again 🤍
